A power adapter is provided in the box for charging directly through the mains. Unlike many other projectors, batteries are provided fully charged for first time use. An extra set of batteries is also provided in the box, both sets of batteries providing around 4 hours of continuous play.

10. DLP technology:
The projector relies on the technology from the creators of DLP, Texas Instruments. DLP or Digital Light Processing is a technology owned by Texas Instruments. The technology developed in 1987 is the flagship technology used in rear projection television and projectors. In DLP technology, the image is produced using micro mirrors laid out in a matrix on the DLP chip.

The resolution of the image corresponds to the number of mirrors on the chip. These mirrors are reoriented rapidly to reflect light on to a lens which scales up the image during the projection. Greyscales are produced by rapidly toggling the mirrors between the on and off orientations.

The technology is capable of delivering jitter free and sharp images using a simple design. Unlike competing technologies, the DLP instruments have a smaller form factor and are much easier to maintain. The projection is achieved by either LED or metal halide lamps. LED based projectors are more durable than other light source based projectors.

The high contrast ratio and excellent resolution make DLP the leading technology for digital cinema projection. More recently the technology has also been used for 3D Cinema.
